On November 4th 2024, the project partners from Croatia (University of Zagreb Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, University of Dubrovnik Faculty of Maritime Studies), Montenegro (University of Montenegro Faculty of Maritime Studies) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (Municipality of Neum) gathered for the official kick-off meeting of the MARROBO project, which aims to develop innovative marine robotics for monitoring and measure microplastics and metals in seawater and seabed, as well as noise pollution, and to acquire specific new skills and competences.
The meeting took place at the Student dormitory and has brought together representatives of the partner universities, the relevant local authorities, academia and students. The meeting was attended by Zvonimir Cetinić from Harbormaster’s Office Dubrovnik, Dario Barbarić from the Port Authority Dubrovnik, Ante Tvrdeić and Frano Jeričević from the County Port Authority Korčula, Željko Dadić and Tomislav Saltarić from the County Port Authority Dubrovnik, and Danijela Crljen from ACI Slano.
This project aims to enhance collaboration among regions, share best practices, and implement innovative solutions. During the meeting, Professor Natalija Kavran, PhD on behalf of the lead partner, Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences (University of Zagreb), and Associate Professor Srđan Vujičić, on behalf of the project partner, the Faculty of Maritime Studies (University of Dubrovnik) presented the project goals and expected outcomes and the plans for stakeholder involvement. The project will be implemented in the period from 15 July 2024 to 14 July 2026. The total value of the project is €635,083.62.
