Quality Assurance

Internal system of quality assurance at the University of Dubrovnik comprises a unique set of measures and activities aimed to ensuring efficiency and quality outcomes of educational and scientific activities of the University.

The goal of the Quality Assurance System is to build institutional mechanisms for continuous improvements in all aspects of teaching, scientific and artistic activities and expert and administrative activities as well as to boost high standards of professional and expert development of all stakeholders in University’s activities.

The purpose of the Quality Assurance System is to establish principles, criteria and methods to ensure and boost quality, abiding thereby by the provisions of the Act on Quality Assurance in Science and Higher Education as well as by the Statute and other general acts of the University. The following important documents have also been taken into account: Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area and the ISO 9001 standard, as well as the specific nature of certain fields of science and arts.

The University of Dubrovnik so continues its quality management tradition, which was already established by the Polytechnic of Dubrovnik, which was the first higher education institution obtaining a quality management certificate according to the ISO 9002:1994 standard back in 1999, with double registration by the Croatian Shipping Register and Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI).

Quality Assurance provides administrative and expert support to the Internal Quality Assurance System Committee and participates in implementing the decisions of the Rector, Senate and the Quality Assurance System Committee for Measures and Activities.
