Kick off meeting, attended by the head of LARIAT, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivana Palunko, took place on September 5th, 2024, in Lecce, at the CMCC Foundation.
The ARCA project started in May 2024, with the CMCC – Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change as the coordinating organization, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivana Palunko serving as the project coordinator at UNIDU, which is one of the project partners. The project is funded by the Interreg VI – B IPA Adriatic Ionian – IPA ADRION – Cooperation Programme 2021-2027, and will run for 36 months, from May 1, 2024, to April 30, 2027.
Partners gathered to discuss and plan innovative activities aimed at developing a cutting-edge platform focused on improving forest monitoring and combating climate change-related hazards using artificial intelligence.
A key action of the ARCA project is to promote and encourage the development of transnational innovations through pilot and joint actions, contributing to addressing societal and environmental challenges such as energy efficiency and climate change, with effective monitoring of forest areas. The project brings together 9 partners from Italy, Croatia, Greece, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Albania, and Serbia.
This marks the beginning of an incredible journey toward a greener and safer future!
