Životopis:
Sanja Grđan zaposlena je na radnom mjestu više asistentice na Odjelu za primijenjenu ekologiju gdje sudjeluje u izvedbi nastavnog procesa na preddiplomskom i diplomskom studiju kroz održavanje praktikuma, terenske nastave i seminara. Nakon završenog diplomskog studija Marikultura, stekla je doktorat iz područja Biotehničkih znanosti, polja Interdisciplinarnih biotehničkih znanosti na doktorskom studiju Primijenjene znanosti o moru Sveučilišta u Splitu i Sveučilišta u Dubrovniku. Suradnik je na raznim istraživačkim i stručnim projektima, te aktivno sudjeluje u promociji znanosti i održavanju radionica za sve uzraste.
Istraživanja utjecaja globalnih stresora na morske organizme započela je eksperimentom za doktorsku disertaciju gdje se bavila biološkim i ekološkim odgovorom vrste morskih beskralješnjaka na acidifikaciju mora. Ujedno je savladala metode monitoringa i analize parametara karbonatne kemije mora, te je za Ocean Acidification International Coordination Centre (OA-ICC, IAEA) napisala priručnik i snimila edukacijski materijal za istraživače koji se tek započinju baviti acidifikacijom mora. Kontinuirano se dodatno osposobljava te sudjeluje na brojnim radionicama poput Marine Data 4 Ocean Health (Copernicus Marine Service), Winter School on Ocean Acidification and Multiple Stressors (IAEA), Introduction to Statistics in R (Physalia Courses), Technical Meeting on Ocean Acidification Meta-Analyses (IAEA) i brojne druge. Kao pozvani predavač održala je prezentaciju i laboratorijskie vježbe na radionici Basic training course on ocean acidification, održanoj na Kristineberg Marine Station, Sveučilišta u Gothenburgu (2022).
Od listopada 2020. aktivni je član GOA-ON (Global Ocean Acidification Observing Network) zajednice.

Biography/CV:
Sanja Grđan is employed as a senior assistant at the Department of Applied Ecology, where she participates in the teaching process at both undergraduate and graduate levels through practical classes, fieldwork, and seminars. After completing her master's degree in Mariculture, she earned a doctorate in the field of Interdisciplinary Biotechnical Sciences, within the doctoral program of Applied Marine Sciences at the University of Split and the University of Dubrovnik.
She is involved as a collaborator in various research and professional projects and actively participates in science promotion within a wider audience.
Her research on the impact of global stressors on marine organisms started with her doctoral dissertation experiment, where she focused on the biological and ecological response of a marine invertebrate species to ocean acidification. Additionally, she has studied monitoring methods and the analysis of marine carbonate chemistry parameters related to oceans' increased absorption of carbon dioxide. For the Ocean Acidification International Coordination Centre (OA-ICC, IAEA), she co-authored a handbook and recorded educational video materials for researchers just beginning to study ocean acidification.

She continuously enhances her skills by participating in numerous workshops, including Marine Data 4 Ocean Health (Copernicus Marine Service), Winter School on Ocean Acidification and Multiple Stressors (IAEA), Introduction to Statistics in R (Physalia Courses), Technical Meeting on Ocean Acidification Meta-Analyses (IAEA), and many others. As an invited lecturer, she delivered a presentation and laboratory exercises at the workshop "Basic training course on ocean acidification," held at Kristineberg Marine Station, University of Gothenburg (2022).
Since October 2020, she has been an active member of the GOA-ON (Global Ocean Acidification Observing Network) community.
