The Croatian Public Relations Association (HUOJ) is giving the award Young Talent, which is a recognition for this profession in terms of recognising the knowledge, excellence and motivation of students of higher education institutions. The objective of the award is to promote excellence among students and to motivate them to acquire new knowledges and skills in public relations.
The call is open from 12 October to 7 November 2022 until 12:00 hours. All works realised in the academic year 2021/2022 can be applied for selection in the following four categories:
HUOJ’s student award for seminar paper
This award is given for the best seminar paper for a course in the field of Communication and PR. Seminar papers means a papers written by students within a study programme. They should contain independent professional or scientific treatment of a topic whereby, students demonstrate their theoretical and practical knowledge as well their ability to use literature independently.
HUOJ’s student award for graduate thesis
The award is given for the best Master’s thesis in the field of Communication and PR. Master’s theses means papers written independently by students as a precondition for their completion of graduate studies, and they have an appropriate structure, content, methodology, research results and conclusions showing that students have mastered the basic scientific and professional knowledges in the field of Communication and PR, that they are able to implement them while analysing concrete phenomena and that they are able to give substantiated explanations about the topic. This is why Master’s theses must also contain the use of scientific-research instruments and respective professional-methodological procedures, a systematic explanation of the topic and an explanation of the results of the research done within a Master’s thesis.
HUOJ’s student award for communication plan
The award is given for the best communication plan or communication strategy in a course in the field of Communication and PR. This means a copyright project made by students independently within a course during their studies, which has all key elements that enable a full overview and analysis of a communication project and the possible implementation of the planned communication activities in an actual situation.
HUOJ’s student award for graduate thesis
The award is given for the best graduate thesis in the field of Communication and PR. Graduate theses means papers written independently by students as a precondition for their completion of undergraduate studies, and they include an appropriate structure, content, methodology and conclusions showing that students have mastered the basic professional terminology of the field of Communication and PR, that they are able to implement them in analysing a concrete problem and that they are able to pass independent conclusions and give substantiated explanations about that.
Each application received is reviewed by the HUOJ’s Expert Committee consisting of five members who grade the applications according to each criteria as defined by the Ordinance on the Award of the Annual Young Talent Awards. The evaluation criteria are the following: expertise and seriousness in the approach to the topic, the structure and compactness, the literacy level and the level of creativity and innovation.
The latest deadline for the submission of works is 7 November 2022 at 12:00 hours. The student award ceremony is planned to be held in the first week of December 2022.
