Professor Nikša Burum, PhD, Rector of the University of Dubrovnik, and Professor Jurica Pavičić, PhD, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business in Zagreb, concluded a Cooperation Agreement between the University of Dubrovnik, acting as the scientific organisation in charge of the Centre for Research of Digital Transformation CREDO, and the Faculty of Economics and Business in Zagreb, acting the scientific organisation in charge for the Scientific Centre of Excellence for School Effectiveness and Educational Management.
The Agreement has been entered with the aim to jointly organise domestic and international scientific and expert gatherings, compiling and publishing proceedings, books and other publications, presentation of joint production in the media, organisation of workshops and other scientific and expert projects.
As of its establishment in 2020, CREDO has participated in 7 international projects and has collaborated with partners in more than 15 countries as either a co-ordinator or collaborator. CREDO has been actively participating in the development of teacher competences, educational and training content in the area of entrepreneurship, management, intra-cultural and virtual team work, self-awareness and leadership as well as in the building of transversal competences in the digital environment. Its scientists regularly publish the topics of economics in the leading world scientific journals and in Croatia. This ranks the Centre among the leading business-research centres in Croatia of its kind.
The Scientific Centre of Excellence for School Effectiveness and Educational Management (ZCI-SEMI) was established for research and its aim is to provide significant scientific contribution with respect to school effectiveness and educational management. Its contribution is recognisable in terms of identifying new variables and relations in the globally recognised theoretical models relating to achieving school effectiveness and doing empirical tests of this model. Therefore, there are a lot of complimentary areas between these two institutions, and this has been the impetus for entering into this Cooperation Agreement.
