GRADUATE UNIVERSITY STUDY PROGRAMME
ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES FOR MARITIME INDUSTRY

  • ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

    ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

The programme in Electrical Engineering and Communication Technologies for Maritime Industry is intended for those who are interested in acquiring the knowledge and skills in the following areas:
    • Electrical engineering / electronics
    • Power engineering
    • Automated control and regulation
    • Communication and information technologies used on modern ships, marine and land facilities.
By attending theoretical and practical courses, students acquire the knowledge and skills needed to work in the companies dealing with marine traffic technology, coast guard work organization and in the companies dealing with the development, installing and maintenance of electrical engineering, electronic, communication and navigation systems as well as systems for automated process control, both at marine and land facilities.
By their combination of elective and compulsory courses during their study, students get specialised in their particular area of interest.

  • PROGRAMME DURATION

    PROGRAMME DURATION

The graduate university study programme in Electrical Engineering and Communication Technologies for Maritime Industry lasts two years or four semesters (120 ECTS credits).

  • DEGREE AWARDED

    DEGREE AWARDED

Upon the completion of the graduate programme, students are awarded the academic degree of a Master of Engineering in Electrical Engineering and Communication Technologies for Maritime Industries (mag. ing. el.).

  • JOB OPPORTUNITIES

    JOB OPPORTUNITIES

The programme in Electrical Engineering and Communication Technologies for Maritime Industry fully meets the long-standing needs of shipping companies for employing university-educated experts to work on merchant navy ships around the world. Also, these experts are needed in tourist marinas, port offices as well as in the major part of other organizations because electronic and communications equipment is being increasingly introduced everywhere. Situation is similar in the areas with prominent tourist activity; modern hotels are unimaginable without modern communications and electronic equipment.
Merchant navy ships, tourist facilities, ports and reception terminals, marinas, shopping centres, airports, hospitals… all these are places where students who have graduated from this programme can work.
