Application process

Welcome to the University of Dubrovnik (UNIDU), where tradition meets innovation! Thank you for considering UNIDU for your higher education journey. Our dedicated UNIDU team will be with you every step of the way, providing guidance and support to help you settle in, succeed academically, and make the most of your time here in Dubrovnik.

Please follow the below guidelines in order to make a correct application for your studies at UNIDU for both undergraduate (bachelor) and graduate (master) programs at University of Dubrovnik.

    Application deadline: June 1, 2025

    How to Apply

    To apply, send the following documents via email to: admissions@unidu.hr

    Required Documents for All Applicants:

    • Curriculum Vitae (CV)

    • Motivation letter

    • Passport scan (photo page)

    • Passport-sized photo

    • Records of previous achievements (awards, competitions, etc.)

    • Proof of English language proficiency (TOEFL or IELTS)*

    • Proof of application fee payment

    Additional Documents by Program Level:

    For Bachelor’s Programs:

    • Official high school transcripts

    • Final high school certificate or diploma

    For Master’s Programs:

    • Bachelor’s diploma

    • Full transcript of records from previous studies

    *If you do not have a TOEFL or IELTS certificate, the University can organize an English language proficiency test for you.

    All documents must be translated into English.

    General Admission Requirements

    Bachelor’s Programs

    1. Completed High School Education

      • Minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale*

      • Refer to the “List of Foreign Qualifications Sufficient for Applying to Study Programs in Croatia” for eligibility details

    2. English Language Proficiency
      Minimum level: B1 (CEFR)
      Acceptable test results include:

      • IELTS Academic: minimum score of 5.0

      • TOEFL iBT: total score of 65, with at least 17 in Writing and at least 16 in other sections

      • TOEFL Essentials: minimum score of 7.0

    3. Assessment Interview
      All applicants must participate in an interview to assess their qualifications and motivation for the program.

    Master’s Programs

    1. Completed Undergraduate (Bachelor’s) Degree

      • Equivalent to 180 ECTS credits

      • Minimum GPA of 3.5*

    2. English Language Proficiency
      Minimum level: B1 (CEFR)
      Acceptable test results include:

      • IELTS Academic: minimum score of 5.0

      • TOEFL iBT: total score of 65, with at least 17 in Writing and at least 16 in other sections

      • TOEFL Essentials: minimum score of 7.0

    3. Assessment Interview
      An interview is required to evaluate academic readiness and motivation.

    *Candidates with a GPA between 3.0 and 3.49 may be considered conditionally, provided they submit two academic or professional letters of recommendation.

  • Document Review and Interview Scheduling

    After the internal verification we will arrange an interview with the candidate.

  • Conditional Letter of Acceptance

    After the interview process, if the candidate is accepted at UNIDU, the university will send a conditional letter of acceptance, which includes next steps regarding the admission procedure.

  • Student Registration in the Croatian Central Application Systems for Bachelor programs

    postani-student.hr for undergraduate (bachelor) students – the registration usually opens in the beginning of February

    For Master students –  the application form will be sent after the Interview!

  • Assessment of the foreign educational qualification by the Croatian Agency for Science and Higher Education (AZVO)

    For undergraduate (bachelor) programs only: as part of the admission process AZVO will complete the assessment of the foreign educational qualification. To ensure all applications in the centralized system are valid, an interview will be required for admission (only for students that didn’t go through the interview in the internal verification phase (step 2).

    For graduate (master) programs the evaluation is conducted at the University of Dubrovnik!

  • Announcement of official student rankings and enrollment

    Undergraduate (Bachelor’s) Studies

    • Rankings published: Early July 2025

    • Enrollment period: Second half of July

    Graduate (Master’s) Studies

    There are two enrollment periods for Master’s programs:

    • Summer Enrollment:

      • Application deadline: June 30

      • Rankings published: July 1

      • Enrollment period: July 2 – July 11

    • Autumn Enrollment:

      • Application deadline: September 26

      • Rankings published: September 29

      • Enrollment period: September 29 – October 3

  • After the enrolment - Visa Application

    The confirmation of enrollment is sent to students. Non-EU students must apply for a student visa at the Croatian embassy or consulate in their home country – UNIDU will provide support.
