The University of Dubrovnik participates in the first Croatian Erasmus Mundus joint master degree programme in economics. Togher with their colleagues from the University of Palermo (Italy), the University of Malaga (Spain) and the Florida International University (USA), students from Dubrovnik will have the opportunity to earn a joint master degree from these institutions where they will spend a part of their studies. This is the culmination of the efforts, which started ten years ago when the University of Dubrovnik organised the first Croatian double degree programme in cooperation with the University of Palermo.
The European Commission approved financing support for this Erasmus Mundus joint master degree, which is entitled ‘Tourism Systems and Hospitality Management’. Besides this programme, only two other Erasmus Mundus joint master degrees are offered in Croatia. However, this is the first such programme in the field of economics. Erasmus Mundus is a European Union programme aimed primarilyat increasing higher education quality and promoting international cooperation. The goal is to foster excellence and global internationalization of higher education institutions through their (master level) study programmes.
Joint Masters are delivered by an international partnership of higher education institutions and – where applicable – other educational or non-educational partners with specific expertise and interest in the area of study. The best graduate student applicants worldwide are offered scholarships. These international high level study programmes are marked by innovation and provide their graduates with enhanced employability skills.
