On 26 June 2026, the University of Dubrovnik took part in the official programme of the 19th Dubrovnik Forum, an international conference held this year under the theme The Age of Multipolarity: Many Directions, One Future.
As part of the panel dedicated to the future of industrial development in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, the Industrial Development Report 2026 (IDR 2026), the flagship global report of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), was presented. The report examines the future of industry, the green transition, and the megatrends that will shape economic and technological development.
Through its contribution to the report as UNIDO’s regional expert for Eastern Europe and the South Caucasus, the University of Dubrovnik has extended the impact of its research beyond academia into the sphere where development policies, industrial strategies, and future directions of economic development are shaped. The international recognition of the University’s scientific work has been further reinforced through the activities of the CREDO Research Centre team, led by Prof. Nebojša Stojčić.
The discussion focused on how digital transformation, the green transition, and regional cooperation can help countries across the region strengthen productivity, innovation, and competitiveness.
This year’s Dubrovnik Forum brought together high-level government officials, representatives of international organisations, academia, the business sector, and civil society from around the world. Discussions addressed changes in the global order, security, artificial intelligence, energy resilience, economic connectivity, and sustainable development.
The University’s participation is another confirmation that the knowledge and research generated at the University of Dubrovnik extend beyond the academic community, contributing to discussions on development policies and the future direction of economic development.
