Registrations are now open! Join the courses of the European project RestReef (Erasmus+), a training programme designed for those who want to take marine conservation a step further: learn how artificial reefs are designed, deployed and monitored as a tool for ecological restoration and biodiversity recovery in high-value marine areas.

RestReef has a clear goal: to turn scientific and technical knowledge on artificial reefs into practical, real-world skills, through a blended experience that combines online learning with in-person practical sessions linked to diving and fieldwork. The training is framed within the restoration of Habitat 1170 “Reefs” (Habitats Directive) and its application in settings such as the Natura 2000 Network.

Learn and work with experts
RestReef is built around a learn-by-doing approach: e-learning platform content and hands-on sessions at sea to understand first-hand how real restoration projects using artificial structures are carried out, with specialised organisations and an international perspective.
Planned mobility destinations
The in-person activities (September 2026) are planned across three project locations, combining the Mediterranean and the Atlantic:
- Dubrovnik (Croatia)
- La Azohía (Spain)
- Peniche (Portugal)
More information and registration
