SeaClear 2.0 Recognized for Contribution to Sustainable Robotics at the European Robotics Forum 2026

The SeaClear 2.0 project has been awarded a prestigious recognition for Outstanding Achievement in Robotics Sustainability Leadership, granted within the framework of the Sustainability Leadership Recognition in Robotics initiative.

The Sustainability Leadership Recognition in Robotics initiative is conducted as part of the European Robotics Forum (ERF), one of the most important European events in the field of robotics, organized by euRobotics with the support of the European Commission. The forum brings together leading experts from academia, industry, and the public sector to exchange knowledge and promote innovation in robotics. This year’s edition of ERF took place in Stavanger, Norway, from 25 to 27 March 2026, a vibrant and innovative hub in Northern Europe, with a special focus on the theme “Robotics for the blue economy and growth in space”, highlighting the role of robotics in sustainable ocean development and the advancement of space technologies.

The initiative aims to recognize and promote innovative solutions that leverage robotics to address global sustainability challenges, as well as to highlight organizations and projects that systematically integrate sustainable practices into the development and deployment of advanced technologies.

This recognition confirms the excellence of the SeaClear 2.0 project in developing technological solutions focused on marine environment protection and its significant contribution to advancing a sustainable approach in the field of robotics.

The Laboratory for Intelligent Autonomous Systems (LARIAT) at the University of Dubrovnik, led by Prof. Dr. sc. Ivana Palunko, is one of the project partners in the Horizon-IA  SeaClear 2.0 project, which focuses on developing advanced robotic solutions for the detection and removal of marine litter.

This achievement is the result of the dedicated work of the project partners and serves as an additional incentive for the continued development of innovations contributing to environmental protection and sustainable development.
