The University of Dubrovnik was the host to the meeting of the Deans of the faculties of economics from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro and Slovenia. The guests were greeted by Associate Professor Nebojša Stojčić, Vice Rector for Business Affairs, in the Great Chamber of the Rector’s Office. He welcomed his colleagues by saying that the University of Dubrovnik was small but that it had a big heart and that its doors were permanently open to all colleagues. The meeting was also attended by Sandra Bezjak, Master of Science and Acting Director of the Agency for Science and Higher Education.
Networking, cooperation and mutual support are the keys to developing the science of Economics and to advancing the higher education system in this area, as it was stated at the beginning of the meeting. All meeting participants presented their institutions, activities that they are currently engaged in as well as their future plans. Numerous opportunities for cooperation were highlighted, including domestic as well as international projects. All Deans and their associates expressed their satisfaction that the meeting was held live, after having had several years of virtual meetings. The intention to continue networking through similar meetings was also expressed, since such meetings bolster networking among colleagues and the realisation of joint projects.
This meeting was part of the programme of the 20th celebratory international scientific conference Odyssey, which was organised in the Student Dormitory by the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Zagreb. The conference was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Science and Education.
