Representatives of the Faculty of Maritime studies participated in the IAMU Executive board meeting in India

The Faculty of Maritime Studies of the University of Dubrovnik, as the representative of Region 1 (Europe and Africa), participated in the 21st meeting of the International Executive Board of IAMU, held at AMET University in Chennai, India, from April 8 to 11.

As an active and committed member of the International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU), FMS UNIDU continues to align with IAMU’s renewed strategic agenda, driven by the objectives of the Tokyo Statement.


IAMU’s 2025 priorities continue to inspire our investment in:


• Curriculum innovation to support digital transformation and MASS readiness
• GMP implementation and global competency development
• Integration of sustainability and climate adaptation into research and operational practices
• Support for early-career professionals, student mobility, and gender equity in MET
• Collaborative research and industry engagement to bridge education with real-world maritime practice.


Since 2021, the Faculty of Maritime Studies of the University of Dubrovnik has been actively involved in IAMU initiatives, including:


• Participation in IEB meetings as an active member of the Liaison Committee
• Contribution to the GMP BoK working group and revision committee
• Engagement in the IAMU project “Framework for the Collection of Information on Graduate Employment”
• Review of project proposals and scientific papers for IAMU conferences
• Consistent participation at IAMU AGA Assemblies
