The University of Dubrovnik hosted a four-day technical training on microcredential development in Dubrovnik from 3 to 6 March as part of MICRO4ASIA project. The workshop brought together academic and technical staff from partner universities in Vietnam and Laos to strengthen their technical and pedagogical capacities for developing and delivering micro-credential courses in online and hybrid formats.
Held at the University’s main campus and the UNIDU TV studio, the training focused on practical aspects of producing high-quality educational video content and delivering hybrid lectures. During four days, participants received hands-on guidance on how to present effectively in front of a camera, how to organise hybrid teaching sessions, and how to operate professional audiovisual equipment purchased through the project, including cameras, lighting, and sound systems.
Throughout the workshop, participants worked closely with technical and communication experts from the University of Dubrovnik. Training sessions included demonstrations of the university’s recording facilities, analysis of educational video materials, and practical exercises in filming and editing. Participants also recorded short presentations about their institutions and also alternated between on-camera roles and technical production tasks, gaining first-hand experience of the full workflow from recording to post-production.
On the final day, participants visited AXON, a behavioural research lab at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Dubrovnik. During the visit, they were introduced to the center’s activities in behavioural science and neuromarketing, as well as the advanced technologies used in research on consumer behaviour and decision-making.
The workshop forms part of the broader capacity-building activities of the MICRO4ASIA project, which supports universities in Vietnam and Laos in designing and implementing micro-credential programmes aligned with European standards and best practices. The skills gained during the training will contribute to the professional production of digital learning materials and the effective delivery of micro-credential courses within the project framework.
