Students of the Dubrovnik School of Economics and Trade participated in the HI EU workshop on cultural awareness

The University of Dubrovnik hosted a workshop on cultural awareness as part of the project HI EU – Croatian Initiative for the European Union in School. Students of the Dubrovnik School of Economics and Trade, accompanied by their teachers, took part in interactive activities and discussions exploring how culture shapes our values, communication, and everyday life, and how understanding cultural differences contributes to building a shared European identity.

The workshop was led by prof.dr.sc. Katija Vojvodić, a member of the HI EU project team, who encouraged students to reflect on the role of culture in European society and the importance of openness to diversity.

The HI EU project, implemented by the University of Dubrovnik with the support of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet programme, aims to strengthen the competences of primary and secondary school teachers in teaching about the European Union, while fostering critical thinking, intercultural sensitivity, and active citizenship among students. Through workshops and collaborative activities like this one, schools and university teachers build stronger connections and exchange innovative teaching approaches. The University of Dubrovnik will continue implementing a series of workshops and activities within the HI EU project, bringing European topics closer to students and teachers in an engaging and contemporary way.
