The BIP HARBOR (Human–AI Reasoning for Building Operational Resilience) programme explores decision-making in an increasingly complex world where human expertise and artificial intelligence must work together effectively. As organizations face growing volumes of data, rapid technological change, and uncertainty in business environments, the ability to make informed, ethical, and accountable decisions has become a critical competence.
The programme is designed to provide participants with the knowledge, tools, and practical skills needed to understand how decisions are made by individuals, groups, and intelligent systems. By combining online and in-person learning activities, BIP HARBOR encourages participants to critically examine the strengths and limitations of both human judgment and algorithmic support, while developing strategies for successful collaboration between people and AI.
Through an interdisciplinary approach that brings together business, technology, psychology, and design, participants explore four complementary perspectives on decision-making. They learn how data-driven technologies can support strategic business decisions, how cognitive biases and social dynamics influence financial and organizational choices, how user-centered digital interfaces shape human behavior, and how insights from neuroscience can deepen our understanding of reasoning, attention, and judgment.
The programme emphasizes experiential learning through case studies, interactive workshops, collaborative projects, and practical applications. Participants gain hands-on experience in evaluating AI-assisted solutions, designing human-centered digital experiences, interpreting behavioral data, and applying evidence-based approaches to decision-making in real-world organizational contexts.
By the end of the programme, participants will be better equipped to recognize when algorithmic recommendations can enhance decision quality, when human expertise remains indispensable, and how to build transparent, responsible, and effective human–AI partnerships that create value for organizations and society.
