EUNICoast Ocean Literacy Day: international conference and community workshops on 8 June 2026

EUNICoast is organising an Ocean Literacy Day on 8 June 2026, hosted by partner university EMUNI. The day brings together two complementary activities: interactive workshops for community engagement and an international conference on the geopolitics of transport.

The conference places a pressing question at its centre: can the Mediterranean remain a main gateway for global trade? Sessions will examine how Red Sea disruptions, Arctic route developments, and shifting geopolitical dynamics are reshaping Mediterranean transport corridors, and what this means for ports, rail networks, and regional cooperation.
